OSCAR 2011 RE:WIND- GLAM or SHAM.

Last night, Hollywood came out to shine at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards and the ladies did NOT disappoint in giving us some extraordinary fashion. We saw lots of trends, from lace to sparkles to classic black and bold colors, looks like these ladies took notes from past winners. So who was Best Dressed? Who was a Hot Mess? Who was GLAM and who was a SHAM?

Women's shoe designer and ladies' man, Ryan Haber weighs in on what the MEN would say and I'll let you know what the GLAMAZON thinks, remember at the end of the day it was a GREAT NIGHT IN FASHION! One that will go down in history as one of the best red carpets of all time.

TF: GIVE ME MOORE.  Mandy Moore was pure sophistication in her Monique Lhuillier gown with the mesh detailing that looked like the crystals were painted on her body. She definitely channeled her Old Hollywood glamour. Definite GLAM.

RH: OH MANDY! Mandy Moore: Simply elegant. I still remember her first single and every time I hear it, it brings me back to my early days.  This gown is very classy, and elevates Mandy to the woman that she is now. The pretty diamond detailing on the arms allows for your eyes to expand the dress and gives this outfit a nice touch.
TF: MAMA, MILA. Wow! Mila Kunis has arrived this year. She's definitely made a splash in the fashion world and all eyes were on her last night in her lavender lacy Elie Saab gown. The peek-a-boo sheer inserts added just the right amount of skin to keep it classy, yet oh so sexy. GLAM.
RH: OH MILA! Mila Kunis: This chick can rock ANY outfit and look stunning, she can put on a garbage bag and make it look gorgeous.  Big fan of this outfit. Shows a little chest, and a touch of mystery with the openings down her leg. So sexy!
TF: LADY IN RED.  Jennifer Lawrence may catch some slack from the fashion critics, but I am gonna definitely say that I think for a first time nominee in the Best Actress category and first time at the Oscars she definitely didn't miss a mark. She definitely took a note from Scarlett's fashion notebook with this curve-hugging red Calvin Klein. (too bad Scarlett stopped reading her book, it showed at the Oscars this year, sorry.) GLAM

RH: RED HOT!  Jennifer Lawrence: I don't care what anybody says, this outfit had me.  Sleek and form-fitting, Jennifer lets her curves show!  Add a sexy Choo shoe, and she is set! Big fan of this outfit.

TF: FASHION 'FIGHTER'. You can't blame Amy Adams for playing it cool, calm, and collected in this conservative L'Wren Scott navy blue sparkly gown. This is definitely a more sophisticated tone for Ms. Adams who is definitely use to showing us her decolletage, but this gown did not disappoint. And unlike Mr. Randolph Duke, whom I admire, I love the emerald stone detail against the blue. Trendsetter in the making, GLAM.
RH: BOLD IN BLUE. Amy Adams:  Her beautiful orange-red hair compliments this blue gown. Being bold is what I like, this outfit stands out and is very classy. The slit down the side ads a nice sensual element to the dress.  I may like a low cut top, but a neck choker like this has me going too!
TF: LOVE-LY, SEX-Y, and ADDICTIVE. Hathaway not only shined as a co-host this year in her multiple wardrobe changes throughout the night, but definitely was a true screen SIREN in this red Valentino gown with ruche-detailing. Kudos to Rachel Zoe for yet another fabulous red carpet moment! GLAM.

RH: BELLE OF THE BALL. Anne Hathaway: Bold and beautiful!  RED! Hot! Fire! What we learn about class, we learn from gowns and women like this. Beautifully detailed with just the right amount of ruffles and flowers to add a pop of detail. Beautiful.
TF: COUNTRY 'STRONG' CHOICE. Magnificent in metallic. Gwyneth Paltrow radiates in this silver Calvin Klein column-dress. The neckline is very fashion-forward and fresh. Keeping the jewelry minimal was key to pulling this look off. Breathtaking. GLAM.

RH: A COLD PLAY. Gwyneth Paltrow: Not grabbing me, this dress does nothing for her figure, and the cut of the top is too modern and futuristic looking to me. Wasn't happy with this dress.

TF: PERFECT IN PURPLE. Congrats to mommy-to-be Natalie Portman for styling her new bundle of joy in a gorgeous Rodarte gown that made her glow. And I mean really, did it matter what she wore? By the end of the night, she was gonna have the best accessory of the evening in her hand-- OSCAR! GLAM!
RH: PROUD PURPLE. Natalie Portman: Couldn't be more angelic. Natalie looks beautiful as always, and this pop of purple is just what we needed on the carpet.  Being pregnant she is absolutely stunning in this gown, so appropriate.

TF: A 'BERRY' BAD MISTAKE.  Not very happy with this choice. I am a huge fan of Marchesa typically, but I think the tulle got a lil messy and was a lil too much. I love the top of the gown, the beading is exquisite on her, but the remnants of tulle lost me. SHAM.

RH: ALL HAIL, HALLE. Halle Berry:  I am actually a fan of this gown. I love the top, maybe there's too much lace and a train, but the strapless top and the form-fitting has me going.  Halle always looks gorgeous, and I think this was a beautiful outfit.
TF: O'RANGETangerine never looked sooo good. Miss Jennifer Hudson got her dose of Vitamin C in Versace. She is the epitome of beauty and hard work. It's so much fun to see her enjoy couture in her new body. Keep rockin' it girl! GLAM.

RH: FASHION IDOL. Jennifer Hudson:  Loving the outfit. Look how amazing Jennifer looks! Gorgeous gown, nothing like a sexy mouth watering color to accompany the cut of a specific dress. This tangerine gown definitely stood out, and those purple shoes couldn't have complimented this outfit any better. Purple and an orange go well together, people!  Elegant AND classy!

TF: CAN'T MISS CATE! Want true Hollywood Style Icon? Cate Blanchett is the epitome of it. Award show after award show, she knows how to turn heads, especially in this light lilac Givenchy gown. Modern day goddess is the word I'd use to describe it. A lot of people gave this dress a thumbs down, but if you are a true haute couture lover, you will fall head over heels for this creation. GLAM.

RH: COUTURE CATE. Cate Blanchett: When I first saw this dress I immediately thought of Cinderella. Why? Maybe it was the color of the gown, the purple hue with those beautiful gold and purple pearls and her blonde hair. But like Toni said, if you're a true haute couture lover, then you'll be obsessed w this dress, and I am!

TF: DRAMA QUEEN. Helena Bonham Carter continues her witty sense of style at the Oscars this year. The only thing she has in her favor is that her ensemble was designed by Academy Award winning Costume Designer, Colleen Atwood, who is a close personal friend of hers and husband Tim Burton. You can appreciate her love of costume over fashion, but when do you step out of your character and just enjoy the feminine fashion? I mean even Kelly Osbourne has been transformed- it's possible! SHAM.
RH: HALF-WAY WITH HELENA. Helena Bonham Carter:  I am not sure what to think of this dress. I like the bottom of the outfit more than the top. The strappy shoulder piece is throwing me off, and the cut across her chest isn't helping. Next time, she should hire TF to style her.
TF: SCARLETT LETTER. Well aside from breaking our favorite guy's heart last year, she definitely missed the note with this merlot lace Dolce Gabbana gown. I was very sad bc it looked like too matronly and homely for such a stunning body. SHAM.

RH: Scarlett: Absolutely gorgeous. I love how this dress is lace all the way to her neck. Lace reveals a lot of skin, but keeps the body a secret still, which is why this dress draws my eyes to it. She looks stunning and the length is perfect as well!
TF: NOT KID-DING. Well we were warned at the Oscar nominee luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hilton a month ago. When Nicole was asked what she will wear, her response says it all, "Sunday Rose has a very strong opinion on what I wear, so fingers crossed because I could end up in a tu-tu." Maybe a tu-tu would've been more fitting than this Dior. Glitter and the embroidery were not flattering at all. SHAM.

RH: 'FAR & AWAY' FASHION. Nicole Kidman: Agree with TF on this. Not a fan. Her skin and the color of the dress are too close in hue! I would've liked to see her in a black dress. The cut of the dress around her waist doesn't compliment her body well.

TF: BE MY VALENTINE. Michelle Williams does it again and again. Ladies, take note, she knows how to choose the right Oscar dress over and over and over again. Love the beaded Chanel gown with sleeves. Michelle has the Grace Kelly element in the modern day. GLAM!

RH: WILLIAMS, WOWS! Michelle Williams: Pretty. I'm not a big fan of dresses with sleeves, but this dress does shows it in a simple and nice way. Michelle wears this dress very well, and the detailing on it is absolutely beautiful. Her hair style as well keeps this entire outfit simple, yet stunning!
TF: NOT TOO SWANK-Y. Hilary you always have wow-ing moments. Remember the year you wore Guy LaRoche, those were your better red carpet moments. This Gucci although looks great from the top to hip, the feathers are too much. I know this is the year of the BLACK SWAN but this one was molting. SHAM.
RH: Hillary Swank: This strapless gown and the shimmery-ness effect has me on the positive side, yet the feathers has me leaning towards the 'not-a-fan' side. Hilary looks gorgeous as always, but I'm not quite sure I like the lower portion of this dress. I love the colors, but the feathers have me choking.
TF: TRUE "GLITZ". AGE APPROPRIATE! Hailee Steinfeld looks youthful and fresh in the Marchesa gown that she helped to design once she was nominated. She sparkled and shined. GLAM.
RH: HAILEE'S COMET. Hailee Steinfeld: So cute. Agree with TF, very age appropriate. Looks like a little princess, and the gown is NOT revealing, which is what this cutie pie should be wearing. The nice detailing adds to the nicely done silhouette.  Finding out that she helped design this makes me love it even more. So cute!
TF: REESE-PECTABLE. Reese Witherspoon was classic and timeless in Armani Prive white and black column gown. Loved the bare neckline, keeping it sweet & simple. Notice that the bare neck was a trend that continued this year. Her hair was pure perfection. The sleek ponytail was beautiful and elegant all wrapped into one. GLAM.
RH: REGULAR REESE. Reese Witherspoon:  Elegant and simple. Pretty dress. Not my favorite, but you can't go wrong with a strapless black dress, and add a touch of white to it, very pretty.  Would've liked to see her wearing a pearl necklace, something around her neck to accompany her pretty decolletage.

TF: BULLS-EYE FOR BULLOCK. Sandy radiated in red Vera Wang at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards. Just a year after winning Best Actress, Sandy didn't miss a beat. The architectural detailing gave great structure to this form-fitted mermaid gown. GLAM.

RH: GLAM SLAM FOR SANDRA. Sandra: I've heard bad things about this dress, but I'm a fan! Love the splash of red all over. The cut of the top, very different and chic. I like the hard edges and how the dress sits away from her chest a couple inches, adds a great dimension to it.  Sandra always looks beautiful!
And that wraps up our Oscar RE:WIND, . . .these ladies who need to hire a new stylist have a whole year to get it together! The others can continue to pave their way to Hollywood history in the category of BEST DRESSED!

PERSONAL FAVS.

TF: MUY CALIENTE. Matthew looked handsome in DOLCE GABBANA. And Camila was gorgeous in KaufmanFranco. Classic, timeless, and beautiful. Mi Amore! The plunging neckline shows off this Brazillian beauty's body with ease and sophistication. Jewels by Lorraine Scwartz, Heels by Stuart Weitzman, and clutch by Kotur.

RH: LOCO ABOUT CAMILA. Camila Alves: AMAZING. This gown is absolutely stunning! Nothing like a black gown, with a high waisted belt. This low cut v-neck and thin straps around the shoulder, there's nothing to say about this dress but beautiful. BEAUTIFUL.

TF: HOUSE OF CARTER. Angel Carter in a gorgeous Mark Zunino gown with emerald crystal detailing around a side cut-out. She was accompanying her handsome boyfriend and recording artist, Danny Fernandes. The sexy slit up the left side is just the right amount of edge for this brunette bombshell.

RH: ANGEL EYES. Angel Carter: LOVE IT. Gorgeous dress and this amazing cutout detail with green gems around to bring out eyes down to her side, so perfect. So beautiful.
